Steamed Vegetables with Lusty Lemon Olive Oil

Pair this side dish with your favorite fish for a healthy meal.

Ingredients

  • Approximately 2 cups of raw vegetables per serving. Any combination of: broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, nappa cabbage, bok choy, sno peas, onions or leaks, eggplant, zucchini, yellow summer squash, etc.
  • Calivirgin Lusty Lemon Olive Oil
  • Sea salt to taste.

Preparation

  1. Cut vegetables into bite sized pieces.
  2. Place a steamer basker in a pot large enough to hold the vegetables with a tight lid.
  3. Fill the bottom of the pot with a small amount of water. Add vegetables and cover.
  4. Place on high heat until they begin to steam. Reduce heat to low and let steam 2-3 minutes more or until the tenderness you desire.
  5. Serve hot, toped with a drizzle of Calivirgin Lusty Lemon Olive Oil and a sprinkle of sea salt.
  • Additions: For a stronger lemon flavor, squeeze some fresh lemon juice along with the olive oil and salt. This recipe would also be delicious with Calivirgin Bountiful Basil Olive Oil.
