Homemade Pizza with Basil Olive Oil

Who doesn’t love pizza? Our Bountiful Basil Olive Oil makes a delicious dish even better!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. homemade or purchased pizza dough
  • 6 tsp. Calivirgin Bountiful Basil Olive Oil
  • 1 1/3 cups, grated mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • fresh basil leaves
  • pinch sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  • desired toppings; sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, pepperoni, cooked sausage, bell pepper, olives, red onion, etc. (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Divide dough in to two equal parts.
  3. Sprinkle flour or cornmeal onto rimless baking sheets. Roll out dough into 10 inch diameter rounds on each baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle 2 tsp. Calivirgin Bountiful Basil Olive Oil over each pizza. Divide mozzarella evenly and sprinkle over each pizza leaving a 1 inch border.
  5. Arrange any desired toppings in single layers and sprinkle parmesan over top.
  6. Arrange basil leaves on top and sprinkle garlic.
  7. Bake until crisp and brown on the bottom with melted cheese on top (about 15 min.)
  8. Drizzle with remaining oil and pinch salt and pepper. Cut and serve hot.
  • Additions: Drizzle finished pizza with Calivinegar Barrel Aged Balsamic for an added thick, velvety balsamic flavor.
