Kicked-Up Cornbread

Take your cornbread to another level! The subtle heat from our Jalapeño olive oil is balanced out by the cornbreads’ sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 1 box cornbread mix such as Krusteaz Honey Cornbread Mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup Calivirgin Hot Virgin Jalapeño Olive Oil or Jalapeno Garlic Olive Oil
  • 1 egg

Preparation

  1. Prepare one package cornbread mix as directed, adding Calivirgin Hot Virgin Jalapeño Olive Oil instead of vegetable oil.
  2. Bake as directed.
    • Additions: Take it up another notch by adding 1 cup creamed corn and ½ cup grated cheddar cheese to batter before baking and pair with a big bowl of chili.
