In this series we set out to find some of the finest grapes in the county, which led us to some good family friends and their vineyards in Suisun Valley which is "vicino", or nearby in Italian. Neighbors if you will.
This Primitivo vineyard sits at an elevation of almost 2,300 feet and much like its Italian translation "early one", ripens early. Aged in American oak, it is remarkably versatile; even with its robust character. We recommend pairing this wine on a casual pizza night or an evening with roasted lamb, or grilled red meats.
