Over the years we have made many fantastic relationships with some pretty special Chefs in the greater local culinary scene. The talents and creativity of these Chefs never cease to amaze us and we are grateful for their loyalty using Calivirgin Olive Oils. It’s for these reasons we plan to give credit where it’s due.
It’s only appropriate to highlight Randall Selland and the entire Selland Family. Sacramento’s first Michelin Star, James Beard nominations and countless other accolades speak for the food served but Chef Selland, his family and a dedicated team manage and keep a well oiled (yes an olive oil pun intended) machine of four restaurants with even more locations running smoothly. As I write this I can hear Randall laughing modestly but it’s true. With today's restaurant challenges what the Sellands family has accomplished is amazing. We see a lot of similarities between our family and theirs with respect to the entire family being involved and they have definitely been a role model to live up to. It has been an honor to supply them extra virgin olive oil for over a decade. 2021 was a hit to the restaurant industry but today all four restaurants have reopened with downtown Sacramento’s Ella Dining Room & Bar recently opening back up and featuring exquisite dishes like the Pappa al Pomodoro soup with Calivirgin Olive Oil. They offer something for everyone from fantastic par cooked meals to finish at home at Selland’s Market to a Michelin worthy dining experience at The Kitchen. He’s also a very down-to-earth guy so if you see him at one of the restaurants say hey and tell him we sent you.
